The wheels, or in this case the turbines, turn slowly and unfortunately time is ticking. We need to get behind reputable renewable energy projects that support the transition to a clean energy future.

2030Yea is committed to assisting our community in an equitable transition to renewable energy. In line with this mission, we support renewable energy projects and their infrastructure. We expect renewable developers, such as Fera Australia, to comply with the guidelines and regulations set out by DEECA and the Clean Energy Council Charter of Best Practice.

After consultation and discussion with Fera Australia, we have formed the belief that the company will develop the Seymour Wind Farm according to the strict government guidelines. As executive members of the Clean Energy Council, Fera Australia demonstrates it is informed and committed. On these grounds, 2030Yea is in favour of the Seymour Wind Farm project and we encourage the community to support the initiative.

We believe it is Fera’s responsibility to be accountable to government and to our community. Fera has established a Community Consultative Committee (CCC), with the aim of involving and consulting with local community. We will remain in conversation with Fera. By being involved we can make sure Fera adheres to DEECA’s guidelines and to its own mission statements.

We are looking forward to reporting back to you, our community, on the progress of the Seymour Wind Farm (new name coming, we believe). The wind farm is an exciting project and will contribute substantially to Australia’s emissions reduction, as well as to our local community.
